Two Passage Vane Endwall Study

Project Funded by: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

The objective of this study is to understand the effects of a conical endwall geometry and the effect of inlet velocity on the endwall heat transfer coefficients and adiabatic effectiveness levels of a two passage vane row.  An upstream slot, mid-passage gap, and film-cooling hole geometries will be present on the bottom endwall for each test case.  The heat transfer coefficients and adiabatic effectiveness levels will be measured on the bottom endwall having a straight and conical geometry using an IR camera.
